Kate Jeffers

Kate is one of our in home overnight pet sitters in North County San Diego. She has been with the Del Mar Doggers team since 2012.

For as long as she can remember, animals have been a large part of her life. She currently has a German Shepard Labrador mix named Buster, who she adores.

Kate has her bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies from San Francisco State University. She was born and raised in San Diego and is glad to be living here with our beautiful weather and beaches.

She has a passion in the care for animals and treats all of them like her own. She looks forward to being the best pet sitter for your animals too.

Amanda 

Amanda is one of our Del Mar and Carmel Valley overnight pet sitters and dog walkers. 

Amanda has been part of the team since 2014, providing reliable overnight pet sitting and dog walking services in North County.

She grew up in a home full of animals and has years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all kinds. 

Outside of pet sitting, Amanda enjoys triathlon training, snowboarding, and hiking—she’s even tackled peaks like Mt. Whitney, Mt. Rainier, and Cotopaxi in Ecuador. 

When she’s not outdoors, she’s likely exploring San Diego’s food scene or cooking at home. Amanda looks forward to caring for your pets like they’re her own.

Portia Schwefel

Portia is one of our dog walker and overnight pet sitter connections.  She is originally from Wisconsin, so naturally she was surrounded by many animals growing up, ranging from dogs to cows.  Never a dull moment! 

She grew up with two cats and a dog, whom she loved very much.  She remembers always making time to take Lulu (her American Shepard) on walks at night and to play with her cats, Blacky & Whisper each night before bed.

From her days in Wisconsin she has lived in 4 different states here in the U.S. and has found herself taking care of animals in each state.  She loves it!

Portia has a 15 year + background in customer service and currently works for a software company here in San Diego.  In her free- time she loves working on new paintings, reading and running along the beach, as well as finding great new bakeries and cafes around the city.

Lynn Rinehart

Lynn is one of our North County Coastal dog walker and pet sitter connections in Del Mar and Carmel Valley.  Lynn has lived in Del Mar over 30 years.  She came north from Mission Beach in 1990.

Prior to settling in San Diego, Lynn made her way south after moving to California with her family as a teenager. First, living in the Pasadena area where she earned her AA in Art and French at Pasadena City College.  Then moving to Newport Beach to complete her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Architectural Design at Long Beach State.

After a successful career designing the interiors of commercial spaces, she moved over to sales in architectural products.  Currently she is the Brand Ambassador for the French cookware line, Le Creuset, which allows her to combine her eye for design and sales skills.

Lynn has practiced yoga for more than 30 years and completed a 500-hour Yoga teacher training in 2012.  She teaches yoga in her home, both private lessons and small group classes.

Lynn has always had a dog and, for the last 35 years, cats to keep each dog company.  You might see Lynn walking her sweet Latte around the neighborhood.  She also provides a throne, petting platform and several beds for her cat, King Leo. 

She has taken care of her neighbor’s dogs and cats, had doggy sleep-overs and helped out with a doggy day care business for several months.  Lynn truly enjoys each dog’s personality and is excited to meet your pup.

Charlene Cannan

Charlene is one of our dog walker pet sitter connections.  She was born in Chicago and raised in the San Bernardino mountain and valley areas, dogs were a natural addition to her big family.  Except for their Black Lab (Cinder) and Springer Spaniel (Holly), their other dogs “magically” appeared at their doorstep!  (Friends knew they wouldn’t turn a stray away).

Charlene followed a Pre-Med program at the University of San Francisco in preparation for attaining her certification and licensing as a Registered Dental Hygienist.  She naturally focuses on prevention which led her in 1998 to the San Diego area for certification as a Holistic Health Practitioner.

As an HHP, Charlene specializes in gentle, yet profound vibrational therapies.  Although the majority of her clients are people, Charlene has enjoyed remarkable results with dogs and cats too.  Dao-Tha Soundcodes have a special set of codes just for helpings animals.

Charlene enjoys hiking in Nature and traveling.  For now, her adventures include each amazing pet she is entrusted with through Del Mar Doggers!

Shawn Bennett

Shawn is an Encinitas local and one of our dog walker overnight pet sitter connections. When he is not walking beautiful doggies, he’s working the bar at Steak 48 in Carmel Valley, hiking Torrey Pines, taking in live music or jogging the coast.

Shawn is originally from Phoenix, AZ with a Bachelors in Marketing from Arizona State University. He’s spent over two decades in the high end restaurant wine bar business in a General Manager capacity.

Shawn has a passion and instant attraction to all loving animals – You’ll See!

Patrice Ellman 

Patrice Ellman is one of our dog walkers and in home overnight pet sitter connections. Originally from Northern Vermont, Patrice has lived in the Cardiff/Encinitas area for 20 years. Born an animal lover and advocate, she is entering into her second year of law school with a focus on animal and environmental law. She is also a certified service dog trainer and an absolute fan of all dogs, big and small.

In her spare time, Patrice likes to bird watch, listen to music and podcasts, and paddle board. She believes that all animals are amazing individuals that deserve to be loved and respected in every way.

Doug Miller

Doug Miller is an overnight pet-sitter and dog walker in Del Mar, Carmel Valley, Solana Beach and has been with Del Mar Doggers since 2025.

Doug is from South Jersey, graduated from Penn State, a baseball player and retired business owner. He has lived in North County for over 15 years.

Doug is a life-long dog lover who is reliable, responsible, and loves spending time with our Dogger’s adorable pets. He’s excited to take awesome, loving care of your pet family too.

Klara Bond

Klara is one of our Encinitas to Solana Beach coastal  dog walkers.

She has 30 years experience as a dog and cat mom herself, as well as 15 years experience dog sitting for friends and family.

Outside of caring for her four-legged as well as her two-legged loved ones, Klara enjoys coaching local teens in running, instructing private pilates sessions and studio reformer classes, hiking and ocean dips. 

She can’t wait to meet and become special friends with your pups exploring the outdoors on their walks together.
