Kate Jeffers

Kate is one of our in home overnight pet sitters in North County San Diego. She has been with the Del Mar Doggers team since 2012.

For as long as she can remember, animals have been a large part of her life. She currently has a German Shepard Labrador mix named Buster, who she adores.

Kate has her bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies from San Francisco State University. She was born and raised in San Diego and is glad to be living here with our beautiful weather and beaches.

She has a passion in the care for animals and treats all of them like her own. She looks forward to being the best pet sitter for your animals too.

Amanda Pillow

Amanda is one of our Del Mar and Carmel Valley overnight pet sitters and dog walkers. She has been with the Del Mar Doggers team since 2014. 

Amanda grew up in Atlanta, Georgia with Golden Retrievers, Australian Shepherds and a variety of different breads of cats. Her house was always filled with animals.

Amanda is an avid athlete and enjoys training for triathlons, snowboarding and hiking. She’s recently hiked some huge mountains such as Mt. Whitney, Mt. Rainier and Cotopaxi in Ecuador.

Amanda also enjoys cooking and discovering new restaurants around San Diego. She looks forward to pet sitting your fur family and taking excellent care of them.

Portia Schwefel

Portia is one of our dog walker and overnight pet sitter connections.  She is originally from Wisconsin, so naturally she was surrounded by many animals growing up, ranging from dogs to cows.  Never a dull moment! 

She grew up with two cats and a dog, whom she loved very much.  She remembers always making time to take Lulu (her American Shepard) on walks at night and to play with her cats, Blacky & Whisper each night before bed.

From her days in Wisconsin she has lived in 4 different states here in the U.S. and has found herself taking care of animals in each state.  She loves it!

Portia has a 10 year + background in customer service and currently works for a software company here in San Diego.  In her free- time she loves working on new paintings, reading and running along the beach, as well as finding great new bakeries and cafes around the city.

Lynn Rinehart

Lynn is one of our North County Coastal dog walker and pet sitter connections in Del Mar and Carmel Valley.  Lynn has lived in Del Mar nearly 30 years.  She came north from Mission Beach in 1990.

Prior to settling in San Diego, Lynn made her way south after moving to California with her family as a teenager. First, living in the Pasadena area where she earned her AA in Art and French at Pasadena City College.  Then moving to Newport Beach to complete her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Architectural Design at Long Beach State.

After a successful career designing the interiors of commercial spaces, she moved over to sales in architectural products.  Currently she is the Brand Ambassador for the French cookware line, Le Creuset, which allows her to combine her eye for design and sales skills.

Lynn has practiced yoga for more than 25 years and completed a 500-hour Yoga teacher training in 2012.  She teaches yoga in her home, both private lessons and small group classes.

Lynn has always had a dog and, for the last 30 years, cats to keep each dog company.  You might see Lynn walking her sweet Sydney around the neighborhood.  She also provides a throne, petting platform and several beds for her cat, King Leo. 

She has taken care of her neighbor’s dogs and cats, had doggy sleep-overs and helped out with a doggy day care business for several months.  Lynn truly enjoys each dog’s personality and is excited to meet your pup.

Charlene Cannan

Charlene is one of our dog walker pet sitter connections.  She was born in Chicago and raised in the San Bernardino mountain and valley areas, dogs were a natural addition to her big family.  Except for their Black Lab (Cinder) and Springer Spaniel (Holly), their other dogs “magically” appeared at their doorstep!  (Friends knew they wouldn’t turn a stray away).

Charlene followed a Pre-Med program at the University of San Francisco in preparation for attaining her certification and licensing as a Registered Dental Hygienist.  She naturally focuses on prevention which led her in 1998 to the San Diego area for certification as a Holistic Health Practitioner.

As an HHP, Charlene specializes in gentle, yet profound vibrational therapies.  Although the majority of her clients are people, Charlene has enjoyed remarkable results with dogs and cats too.  Dao-Tha Soundcodes have a special set of codes just for helpings animals.

Charlene enjoys hiking in Nature and traveling.  For now, her adventures include each amazing pet she is entrusted with through Del Mar Doggers!

Howard Lux

Howard is one of our dog walker and overnight pet sitter connections. Howard is originally from the Washington DC/Maryland/VA area.  He's been a San Diegan for the past 17yrs. He got his BA from University of Maryland in Government. Howard worked in the IT industry on Government contracts for 22yrs but has always done pet sitting and dog walking part-time on the side.  He retired from corporate life in 2021 and is now devoted full-time to attending to dogs.

Howard has always had dogs for the past 20yrs, has fostered dogs for adoption, and has volunteered at the San Diego humane society as dog walker.  He has always had a soft spot for animals as early as his memory allows. His Dad was asthmatic and allergic to pets, so Howard made friends with all the dogs in his neighborhood instead.  

Last year he had to say goodbye to his 17yr old Bichon Frise, his steadfast, loyal companion that started his San Diego journey with him.  Howard finds few things more rewarding than earning the unconditional love and trust that dogs provide.

Howard thrives on an active lifestyle so dog walking has always been a great fit.  In his free time, he can be found reading a good book on his Kindle app or playing his favorite sport, Pickleball.  He can’t wait to spend time with your pet family soon!

Jasmine Esbach

Jasmine is one of our dog walker connections. She was born and raised in Durban, South Africa. Moved to Ireland in 2001, and then to New Hampshire in 2013, and finally here to  San Diego. She has always been around dogs and loves walking and spending time with  both dogs and cats.

Jasmine has an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, and has mostly worked in schools and tutoring foreign language students.  She received her certification in Health and Life Coaching in 2021, and coach’s women and help them to thrive in their lives and find balance, clarity, and fulfillment.

She loves to swim, especially in the ocean, take beach walks, read, paint, and walk her Goldendoodle, Louie! Jasmine is active and loves to hike and spend as much time outdoors as she can.

She will treat your pet as if it were her own, as it brings her a lot of joy being around animals and getting to know each one personality. She looks so forward to meeting your fur baby soon!

Lynn Dedrick

Lynn is one of our dog walker connections. Growing up in the Midwest, she fell in love with animals at an early age. Lynn has owned many cats in her lifetime and is a volunteer and foster mom for California Siamese Rescue. She has been lucky to share her home with four lab retrievers over the years as well. 

Lynn enjoys spending time outdoors, especially at the beach, and meeting new people and their pets. She has been a Carmel Valley resident for 23 years and believes that our pets are vital to our health and happiness. Lynn knows that our pets bring out the best in us, and we in turn owe them our care, understanding, and love.
